Why did I create the Electric Car Home website?

Have you noticed how a lot of things in life are electrifying?

  • Diesel and petrol vehicles are gradually being phased out in favour of electric cars and vans.
  • Your home electricity supply can be supplemented with solar panels which generate electricity from the sun rather than by burning gas in a far-away power station.
  • Your gas and oil home boilers are being replaced with electric heat pumps.
  • In addition to electric scooters and bikes, they are even starting to bring out electric aeroplanes!

The move away from fossil fuels towards electrification is good for the climate and our wider environment in general.

However, trying to navigate this changing energy landscape can be confusing:

  • What are the pros and cons of all these new technologies?
  • How much do they cost?
  • How can I combine various technologies for maximum benefit?

Five years ago, there were very few online resources helping people work out how all of these technologies fit together.

So, I created the Electric Car Home website. Here you can discover the advantages of electric vehicles and home renewable energy products, how best to combine them, and the effect electricity tariffs can play. And much more.

What’s my background?

I’ve been working in the renewable energy and electric vehicle sectors for over a decade.

Before that, I had a career in the communication skills industry.

My passion is to demystify these technologies – both in written and verbal form – for consumers and businesses.

My approach is to capture the essence of a technology and explain it in simple terms, but without dumbing down.

Then, I show how individual technologies can work together holistically – that’s where the real fun and games begin.

Collaboration opportunities

I work with businesses as an adviser in the fields of renewable energy, cleantech and eMobility.

I also write original (non-AI) consumer-facing guides, articles and blogs on these topics for the press and corporate / public sector entities.

If you are interested in a possible cooperation, please get in touch.

Big Climate Conversation

Coinciding with COP26 in Glasgow, I was part of Portsmouth City Council’s “Big Climate Conversation” on behalf of Infinity Energy Services:
